Basics



Main buttons (on the left)

  • ORIG: To cancel errors, or to choose an option.
  • TOP: To go back to the first stitch
  • JUMP: Float mode. To run the pattern without sewing.
  • DISP: To change what information is shown during sewing.
  • DRIVE: To change the main menu (FRM_RST, TAPE, READ, MEMORY)


Secondary buttons (on the right). Only active in MEMORY mode.

  • MODE: To change the sub-menu (PATTERN, CHANGE, OFFSET, ADJUST, REPEAT, EDIT, TEACH)
  • CALL: To type in a number directly when you are in a sub-menu.
  • DATA SET: To select
  • NEXT: To go to the next selection
  • CLEAR: To erase a design; to be used with the SHIFT button.
  • SHIFT: Hold down to activate the CLEAR button.


Floppy/USB buttons (on the top)

  • WHITE ARROW (left): To cancel
  • 4 ARROW KEYS (middle): To move around the menu
  • BLACK ARROW (right): To select


Main menu list

  • FRM RST: Perform a power failure return
  • TAPE: To bypass memory and read one stitch at a time
  • READ: To read a new design from the Floppy or USB
  • MEMORY: To use or change a design already in memory


Bar switch and button (under table)

  • BAR SWITCH LEFT: Pull bar to the left to stop, or to go back one stitch
  • BAR SWITCH RIGHT: Pull bar to the right to start; same as the green buttons.
  • THREAD TRIM: This is a button next to the bar switch. Press button to cut threads.


Needle move

  • LEFT ARROW: The needle left arrow will manually change needles to the left
  • RIGHT ARROW: The needle right arrow will manually change to the right





Load a new design


1. Press DRIVE until the READ menu is light up.
2. Press ORIG to select the menu
3. The number on the left will show the memory location to be used.
4. The number on the right shows how many stitches are free.
5. Look at the top screen for the FLOPPY/USB menu.
6. Press the RIGHT ARROW until the word OUTPUT is highlighted.
7. Press the BLACK ARROW KEY, which is next to the arrow keys.
8. It will ask for the file format. Press the RIGHT ARROW to highlight TJM (Tajima) format.
9. Press the BLACK ARROW KEY.
10. The disk or USB stick will be read now. Wait.
11. The directory of the disk will show. All the Tajima files will be listed.
12. Press LEFT and RIGHT to highlight a pattern.
13. Press BLACK ARROW KEY to load the desired pattern.
14. It will ask if you are sure. Press the BLACK ARROW KEY to continue loading.
15. The machine will beep, and the number on the control panel will start counting. Wait until done.
16. It is loaded now. Select the design before you run the machine.



Select a design in memory




1. Press DRIVE until the MEMORY menu is light up.
2. Press ORIG to select the menu
3. Press MODE button, on the right. There will be a light appearing next to the PATTERN menu.
4. Press NEXT to browse through all loaded patterns.
5. Press DRIVE when you are at the desired pattern.



Setting color change




1. Press DRIVE until the MEMORY menu is light up.
2. Press ORIG to select the menu
3. Press MODE button, on the right. There will be a light appearing next to the PATTERN menu.
4. Press MODE again until the light appears next to the CHANGE menu.
5. Press DATA SET.
6. On the left is the current color. It will say number 1. On the right is the needle selection.
7. Press a number to change the needle selection. The number should be 1-8, on an 8-needle machine.
8. After you are happy with the needle selection, press NEXT. It will go to the next color automatically.
9. When you do the last color, the machine will say E and beep.
10. Press DRIVE if you are happy with your selections.
11. If you made a mistake, then do NOT press DRIVE, instead press CALL, 1, DATA SET, then go to step 6.



Erasing design in memory




1. Press DRIVE until the MEMORY menu is light up.
2. Press ORIG to select the menu
3. Press MODE button, on the right. There will be a light appearing next to the PATTERN menu.
4. Press NEXT until you are at the pattern you want to erase.
5. Hold down SHIFT button, and then press the CLEAR button at the same time.
6. Wait five seconds until it finishes.
7. It will automatically move to the next pattern.



Error codes




Press the ORIG button to cancel most errors.


  • ERROR E-02: Electrical power noise. Press ORIG to continue. Make sure transformer is set for 200V, 220V, 240V, depending on your location.
  • ERROR E-18: Main shaft not turning. Inspect main shaft.
  • ERROR E-20, 21, 22, 24: Color change out of position. Press ORIG. Make sure main shaft is on the start position, then use the NEEDLE MOVE arrows to ask the machine to reset the needle.
  • ERROR E-50: Check main shaft, it is out of start position. Head #2 has a green sticker that shows you where the start position is. Press ORIG to retry.
  • ERROR E-60, 61: Frame limit. Move frame closer to the center.
  • ERROR E-102 through E-113: Floppy reading error. Try again from the beginning.
  • ERROR E-114, 115: Memory full. Erase some patterns.
  • ERROR E-120, 121: Memory problem. Have circuit board battery repaired.
  • ERROR E-190, 191, 192: Thread cut knife is stuck. Inspect.
